Islamabad, June 3, 2024 โ€” International travel is set to become more expensive for Pakistani travelers as the National Assembly (NA) passes the Finance Bill 2024-25. The new bill imposes substantial excise duties on plane tickets for both economy and premium classes, effective from July 1.

Excise Duty Details:

– Economy and Economy Plus Class:
– Excise Duty: Rs12,500 per ticket

– Business and Club Class:
– United States and Canada: Rs350,000 per ticket

Effective Date:
– All international travel from July 1

Travelers planning trips abroad are advised to consider these new taxes when booking their tickets, as the increased costs may impact their travel budgets.
